501(c)(3) Nonprofits in Pulsar
A 501(c)(3) can't support or oppose candidates. Pulsar sets up 501(c)(3) campaigns to stay nonpartisan.
Two 501(c)(3) programs
• Nonpartisan civic engagement - voter registration, education, and get-out-the-vote that doesn't favor a candidate or party. Election dates and turnout goals stay on.
• Issue education and lobbying - public education and legislative work on your issue. Goals and AI plans center on the issue and your targets, not an election.
A standalone voter registration program is also available when registration is your main work.
Nonpartisan voter data
For a 501(c)(3) campaign, Pulsar hides partisan voter fields and filters, such as party, partisan lean, and ideology, from voter search and lists.
Verification
Verify with your EIN. Pulsar checks it against IRS tax-exempt records. See Verifying Your Organization's Identity.
Candidate work belongs elsewhere
If your organization also has a 501(c)(4) or a PAC, run candidate-related work as a campaign under that entity.
