PACs, Super PACs, and 501(c)(4)s

PACs, super PACs, party committees, and 501(c)(4) advocacy organizations often work on elections. Pulsar keeps election dates and turnout goals on for them.

PACs and party committees

Verify a PAC with its FEC committee ID. A party committee can use its FEC committee ID or its state filer ID. The wizard offers committee roles, such as Treasurer and Compliance & Political Director.

Super PACs

A super PAC makes independent expenditures only. Pulsar marks a super PAC campaign as coordination-restricted and shows a reminder that its activity must stay independent of any candidate or campaign.

501(c)(4) advocacy organizations

A 501(c)(4) can do some candidate work within its limits. The wizard's 501(c)(4) roles include a Political Director for that program, alongside organizing, development, and policy roles. Verify with your EIN.

Each entity is its own campaign

If your 501(c)(4) also has a PAC, run each as its own campaign and verify each with its own identifier.
