How to Read AI Insights

AI insights appear throughout Pulsar—on your dashboard, in reports, and in the Intelligence section. This guide helps you understand what they mean and how to use them effectively.

AI insights appear across your dashboard with priority badges and type indicators

What You'll Need

• Active campaign with at least 2 weeks of data

• Campaign Manager or higher permissions

Anatomy of an Insight

Every AI insight in Pulsar follows a consistent format:

Insight Header

The header includes the insight type (recommendation, alert, opportunity), a priority badge, and a brief title summarizing the finding.

Key Finding

A clear, actionable statement describing what the AI discovered. This is written in plain language, not technical jargon.

Supporting Data

Metrics and data points that support the finding. This might include charts, percentages, or comparisons to benchmarks.

Recommended Actions

Understanding Insight Types

Strategic Recommendations

High-level suggestions for campaign strategy. These are based on pattern analysis across your entire campaign operation.

Example: "Shift 20% of your canvassing resources to District 3, where persuadable voter density is 40% higher than your current focus areas."

Performance Alerts

Notifications when metrics fall outside expected ranges. These help you catch problems early.

Example: "Email open rates dropped 35% this week compared to your campaign average. Check if recent emails are going to spam."

Opportunities

Untapped potential the AI has identified. These are proactive suggestions for growth.

Example: "147 contacts who donated in the last 30 days have not been asked to volunteer. These warm leads have a 3x higher volunteer conversion rate."

Trend Insights

Analysis of how your campaign is trending over time. These help you understand momentum.

Example: "Voter contact rate has increased 15% week-over-week for 3 consecutive weeks. At this pace, you'll hit your contact goal 2 weeks ahead of schedule."

Reading Confidence Indicators

Each insight shows how confident the AI is in its analysis:

• High Confidence (Green) - Based on substantial data with clear patterns. Act on these insights.

• Medium Confidence (Yellow) - Good supporting data but some uncertainty. Consider the context.

• Low Confidence (Gray) - Exploratory finding based on limited data. Monitor as more data comes in.

Important

Low confidence insights aren't wrong—they're based on less data. As your campaign collects more information, these insights will strengthen or be replaced with better analysis.

Use Quick Actions

Track Implementation

After acting on an insight, the AI tracks the results and updates you on whether the action had the expected impact.

Pro Tip

Check the Intelligence page at least twice a week. Insights are generated continuously as new data comes in, and timely action maximizes their value.

Troubleshooting

No insights appearing? The AI needs at least 2 weeks of campaign activity data to generate meaningful insights. Continue logging contacts and activities.

Insights seem wrong? Check your underlying data quality. Incomplete or incorrect data can lead to misleading insights. Review your data quality score on the dashboard.
