Syncing Social Data
Pulsar automatically syncs data from your connected social media accounts. This guide explains how syncing works and how to resolve common issues.
Social integration status showing connection health and last sync times
What You'll Need
• Connected social media accounts
• Active authorization for each platform
How Sync Works
Pulsar syncs social media data automatically:
• Metrics (followers, engagement) sync every 6 hours
• New posts are detected within 1 hour
• Comments/mentions sync every 2 hours
• Historical data imports once on initial connection
Checking Sync Status
View Connection Status
Go to Settings → Integrations → Social Media to see the status of each connection.
Check Last Sync Time
Each connected account shows when data was last successfully synced.

Triggering Manual Sync
Force Refresh
Click the Sync Now button on any connected account to trigger an immediate data refresh.
Wait for Completion
Manual syncs typically complete within 2-5 minutes. A notification appears when finished.
Pro Tip
Use manual sync before important meetings or reports to ensure you have the most current data.
Troubleshooting Sync Issues
Authorization Expired
Social media platforms periodically expire authorization tokens.
Solution: Click Reconnect on the affected account and complete the authorization flow again.
Partial Data
Sometimes only some metrics sync successfully.
Solution: Platform APIs occasionally have temporary issues. Wait an hour and try a manual sync.
No Recent Data
If data stops updating entirely:
• Check the account is still authorized on the social platform
• Verify your Pulsar subscription is active
• Try disconnecting and reconnecting the account
• Contact support if issues persist
Historical Data Missing
Some platforms limit how far back data can be retrieved:
• Facebook - Up to 2 years of Page data
• Instagram - Up to 2 years for business accounts
• Twitter - Up to 90 days of tweet data
Important
If you change your social media account password, you'll need to reauthorize the connection in Pulsar.
Data Privacy
Pulsar only accesses analytics data—we cannot:
• Post on your behalf
• Access direct messages
• Modify your account settings
• Access personal profiles (only Pages/Business accounts)
When authorization expires, click Reconnect to restore the connection
