Pulsar for PACs
Pulsar gives a PAC one place for contacts, voter data, email and a plan. Set the account up as a PAC, super PAC or 527, and goals, texting registration and donation pages follow that choice.
Who this fits
- Connected and nonconnected PACs supporting candidates or measures.
- Super PACs running independent expenditure programs.
- 527 organizations doing voter contact.
Works today
- Look up your FEC committee: Choose PAC, super PAC or 527 at setup and enter your FEC committee ID. Pulsar looks it up in FEC records.
- Goals in dollars and reach: A PAC counts funds raised and voter contacts. A super PAC counts independent expenditure and reach.
- Voter data, contacts and email: Paid plans include voter data in California, North Carolina and Ohio, contact import and email.
Rolling out
- Donation pages with FEC fields: Kyndara donation pages for political committees ask for the FEC attestations, and for employer, occupation and address above $200. They show the paid-for-by line and apply contribution limits.
- Political texting registration: The texting setup registers political committees under the political use case, which uses a Campaign Verify token.
Not live yet
- Pulsar does not file FEC reports.
- A super PAC label is shown in the app, but Pulsar does not wall off staff to prevent coordination. Keep that in your own process.
Which plan
A single PAC program usually fits Grassroots or Momentum. A PAC supporting many races fits Movement or Coalition, which hold several campaigns.
Questions
- Does Pulsar keep a super PAC separate from candidates?
- Pulsar labels the account as independent expenditure only. It does not enforce a firewall between staff, so your own coordination rules still apply.
- What does Kyndara charge on donations?
- Kyndara's fee is 3.5% plus $0.30 per donation. Donation pages are rolling out.
